Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous gifts to Sound Theatre Company on this year’s final GiveBIG through the Seattle Foundation. We met and surpassed our goal of $5000 and all of the donations were matched! Your gift supports our just completed project, ASL Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is our most expensive production to date, and helps secure our plans for this Summer, back at the Center Theatre to conclude our 2018 season: The Human Family-Towards a Radical Inclusion.
We hope to see you at yet another ground-breaking set of performances this summer, featuring the work of Deaf and Disabled playwrights. On June 1, we will announce the six plays selected for the play reading series that will be presented in July at the Black Box Studio at the Center Theatre at the Armory. Six plays will receive two performances as staged readings: one reading of each play will be ASL Interpreted.
Then in August we will present a fully-mounted Seattle premiere production of Rules of Charity by John Belluso directed by Leah Adcock-Starr. Rules of Charity centers on Monty, a brilliant queer man with Cerebral Palsy and his strained relationship with his daughter and caretaker, Loretta.
None of this is possible without your support and belief in our mission and the work we create on local stages.
Thank YOU! – Teresa Thuman, Artistic Director
