Celebrating all that you’ve helped us do

Thank You!

In August 2023, Sound Theatre called on our community to help us to close a gap in funding and meet unanticipated expenses. You, our beloved community, met that call and helped us to raise the funds needed.

  • Challenging creative boundaries and expanding who can create theatre and how, from hosting a community playwriting workshop and a 10-minute play festival for new intersectional, disabled playwrights; working with Dr. Nikki Yeboah to devise a play telling the story of the 2020 Capitol Hill Occupied Protests based on community testimonials; authentically casting disabled and nondisabled actors and producing the Seattle Premiere of Broadway’s Cost of Living; and premiering the one-of-a-kind Autocorrect Thinks I’m Dead, featuring a majority Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing company of artists.
  • Supporting staff and artists with fair, and increased, compensation. In 2023, our programming has supported more than 100 artists, and with your support, artist compensation has exceeded our original budget.
  • Making theatre more accessible through Radical Hospitality ticket pricing beginning at just $5, All-Vaccinated performances, barrier-free seating, English and Spanish captioning, sensory-friendly performances, pre-show tactile tours, and more.

In 2023, with your joy and generosity, Sound Theatre has crossed new thresholds and opened new possibilities.

Will you join us for what’s ahead in 2024? If you have not yet made a contribution, or wish to provide even more support for our work, make a gift today!
