Dearest Friends,
In the interest of public health and after serious consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our fundraising gala event. We do not take this decision lightly. Months have gone into planning the event and many expenses cannot be recouped. The gala is our single largest fundraising event of the year.
We have been looking forward to celebrating with our many friends this Saturday, March 7th, by sharing in the thrilling successes of the past year and launching our plans for 2020 and beyond. We know many individuals, business and organizations are rapidly changing their plans and have been deeply impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. We all wish for the safety and continued health for everyone in our community; we know this cancelation is just one of many inconveniences you are experiencing.
In lieu of a formal gathering, please consider the following
as we revamp our plans for these important fundraising efforts:
Direct Contribution
• We hope you will contribute to Sound Theatre by donating online or mailing a check (see link and mailing address below). https://www.artful.ly/sound-theatre-company–1/store/donate
Online Auction (great items)
• We will be launching an online version of our silent auction, so watch for more information in the coming days. You’ll still be able to bid on great items such as a brandy tasting, a spa basket, a 3-night stay in Ashland, and many more!
Pop-up DIGITAL BRUNCH
• Jay and Teresa are hoping to host a Pop-Up DIGITAL BRUNCH on Saturday at 11:30am when the original event would have taken place. Join us and Sound Theatre friends on social media for some chat, some songs, some news and some online celebrating.
FUTURE EVENT
• Look for an announcement regarding a future “Thank You” event in the coming months to celebrate and thank YOU, our supporters.
Thank you again for your understanding, your flexibility and your continued support. We hope to see you at our upcoming production of Changer and the Star People, running March 26 – April 12 at Taproot Theatre.
The catered food from the event will be donated to a local homeless shelter on behalf of Sound Theatre Company.
With gratitude,
Teresa Thuman, Producing Artistic Director
Jay O’Leary, Associate Artistic Director
Patrick Lennon, Board President and Gala Co-Chair
Ann McCurdy, Board Secretary and Gala Co-Chair
