On behalf of the Sound Theatre board and staff, we are deeply saddened to inform our community that the final weekend of performances for the world premiere production of AUTOCORRECT THINKS I’M DEAD have been canceled due to growing health concerns within our cast and company.
The health and safety of everyone is always our top priority, and we’re steadfast in adhering to COVID-19 health and safety protocols. With recent circumstances in mind, and with the desire to prioritize health, rest, and recovery, we have come to this difficult decision—one that’s both painful and necessary.

We want to express how incredibly proud we are of this production and celebrate the work of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing artists. Their dedication and impact have undoubtedly made the world a more inclusive and empathetic place. We hope that the audiences who were fortunate enough to experience it loved every second and, alongside the company, forever hold it in their hearts and memories. Sound Theatre is filled with profound gratitude for the passion, dedication, and immense talent they have shared in this process. This magical and memorable experience would not have been possible without the commitment of our artists and our community.
Sound Theatre is grateful to everyone who has helped to bring Autocorrect to life: from our cast and production team, to our staff working behind the scenes, to the audiences, donors, our sponsors and volunteers who have shown such enthusiasm for this new play!
Our sold out run is evidence of the impact of this play. The reverberations of our work together to make this piece possible cannot be overstated.
As Sound Theatre has done for every production during the COVID-19 pandemic, despite these necessary cancellations, all artists involved in Autocorrect Thinks I’m Dead will be fully compensated for the entire scheduled run. Supporting artists is central to Sound Theatre’s mission and the world that we strive to create.
Sound Theatre understands that many ticket holders will need to request refunds at this time, yet as we honor these requests, we will also remain committed to paying everyone involved in this production.
As we’ve done for every production over the COVID-19 pandemic, all artists involved in Autocorrect Thinks I’m Dead will be fully compensated for the entire scheduled run, which means our financial commitments remain unchanged. For this reason, we hope you will help us uphold this commitment.
