PAUL for PETE
a reading, adapted for the stage from:
Paul for Pete: Politics. Theatre. Life. One Man’s Adventures(or, How I Became a Septuagenarian Fanboy)
by Paul Mason Barnes
Directed by Andrew Ian Carlson
March 2nd & 3rd
Paul Mason Barnes—director, author, former PCPA Theaterfest Conservatory Director/Associate Artistic Director, Oregon Shakespeare Festival Education Director, and co-founder of the Oregon Cabaret Theatre and the Great River Shakespeare Festival—writes about his experience as a grassroots fundraiser, Digital Investment Captain, and member of Pete Buttigieg’s Arts Policy Advisory Committee and much, much more during Pete’s campaign for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential nomination in Paul for Pete: Politics. Theatre. Life. One Man’s Adventures (or, How I Became a Septuagenarian Fanboy).
Now adapted as a solo reading for the stage, Paul for Pete recounts the author’s journey from political novice to successful political fundraiser, his cross-country travels directing at regional theatres, festivals, and training programs (including KC/Missouri Rep, UMKC, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, and Webster University), and the collision of those adventures with unexpected personal life events.
