NADESHIKO features performances of five talented local actors who are all new to Sound Theatre Company’s stage.  Maile Wong, recently from the Intiman’s Emerging Artist Program plays the character of Risa.   Ina Chang, recently seen in the title role of Umma in Do It for Umma, will debut the title role of Nadeshiko.  Mi Kang (Tale for the Time Being, Book-It Rep) takes on dual roles of Sue, the Cam Girl and Shoko, a part of the Nadeshiko Unit in WWII Japan and serves as caretaker for the pilot Toshio, played by Josh Kenji, recently of UW School of Drama.  Greg Lyle-Newton, who was recently seen in Strawberry Theatre Workshops acclaimed productions of The Normal Heart and Our Town, rounds out the cast

About the Playwright
Keiko Green is a playwright living in Seattle, WA; having received her BFA in Experimental Theater from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She is a resident playwright in her second year of Seattle Repertory Theatre’s Writers Group, where she presented her work Nadeshiko last year. Most recently, she co-wrote the comic con play Puny Humans and wrote the book and lyrics for the musical Bunnies, both at Annex Theatre.  Her one-act Operation Hibernation was nominated for  Best New Play by Broadway World Seattle, after its premiere in the 2013 Seattle Fringe Festival. Previous full-length works include Acedia (Co-writer; TheaterLab, NYC; 2011), Freak Playground (Ghost Light Theatricals, Seattle; 2012), and Life.Cycle. (Eclectic Theater, Seattle; 2013). Her 10-minute play Experience Points has been performed at Annex Theatre, College of Southern Nevada Theatre, and Bainbridge Performing Arts. Other short plays have been produced by Annex Theatre, Theater Schmeater, Wily West Productions, Horse and Motion, and SnowGlobed with Playing in Progress. She also took part in Seattle’s first One-Minute Play Festival. As an actor, she was part of ACT Theatre’s 2016 Core Acting Company. Other professional acting work includes: The Comparables (Seattle Repertory Theatre); Dangerous Liaisons, Stupid F@#*ing Bird, Bad Apples (ACT Theatre); Othello, Loves Labours Lost, Bring Down the House Pts 1 & 2 (Seattle Shakespeare Co); Water by the Spoonful (Theatre22).
About the Director 
Kaytlin McIntyre (Director) – Directing credits include: The Lost Girls (Courtney Meaker/Annex); IRL: Craigslist (Benjamin Benne/Horse in Motion); View From the Bridge (Miller/Wing Luke Museum); Zapoi! (Quinn Armstrong/Annex); What You Think You Know (Stephanie Timm/Seattle Fringe); Broken Dog Legs (Emily Conbere/Catapult); Frosty ( Live Girls! Quickies); The Receptionist (Adam Bock/Webster University). Kaytlin has developed work with many playwrights including Susan Stanton, Elizabeth Heffron, Benjamin Benne, Courtney Meaker, and Josh Beerman. She serves as the Casting Director at the Seattle Repertory Theatre and is part of the Leadership for Change co-hort hosted by TPS. She received her BFA in Directing from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University.
