NADESHIKO follows the story of two women: A young woman in Japan during World War II takes on the role of caregiver to soldiers soon flying to their deaths. In 2016, Risa takes on a peculiar gig from Craigslist in order to pay her rent. As personal and sexual boundaries blur, the stories of two generations of women intersect in this discovery of power within idealized Asian beauty.
Keiko Green
is a playwright and performer based in Seattle. She received her BFA in Experimental Theater from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Recent writing work includes: Nadeshiko, which was workshopped at the Seattle Repertory Theatre (where she a resident playwright), the book and lyrics for the full-length musical Bunnies, and the co-written full-length play Puny Humans (both at Annex Theatre). Her one-act Operation Hibernation was nominated for Best New Play by Broadway World Seattle, after its premiere in the 2013 Seattle Fringe Festival. Previous full-length works include Acedia (Co-writer; TinLily Productions, NYC; 2011), as well as the independently produced Freak Playground (Seattle; 2012), and Life.Cycle (Seattle; 2013). Her 10-minute play Experience Points has been performed at Annex Theatre, College of Southern Nevada Theatre, and Bainbridge Performing Arts. She has written shorter pieces for Seattle companies: Horse in Motion, Theater Schmeater, Playing in Progress, Wily West Productions, Island Theatre, and the Seattle One-Minute Play Festival. As an actor, she is a member of ACT Theatre’s 2016 Core Acting Company, where she has appeared in Stupid F#@*ing Bird, Bad Apples, and the upcoming Dangerous Liaisons. She has also appeared in The Comparables (Seattle Repertory Theatre), Othello and Love’s Labours Lost (Seattle Shakespeare Co/Wooden O), Amadeus and Caught (Seattle Public Theatre), The Memorandum (Strawberry Theatre Workshop), and Water by the Spoonful (Theatre22) — for which she is the 2016 Gregory Award winner of the People’s Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a play.

Kaitlin McIntyre (Director of Nadeshiko) is a freelance director from Kansas City who focuses on new work. Her directing credits include The Lost Girls (Courtney Meaker/Annex Theatre); Zapoi! (Quinn Armstrong/Annex Theatre); View From the Bridge (Miller/Wing Luke Museum); What You Think You Know (Stephanie Timm/Seattle Fringe); Broken Dog Legs (Emily Conbere/Catapult); No Place Like Home (Susan Soo He Stanton/OCC); The Killers (Quinn Armstrong/12 Minutes Max). Assistant Directing credits include MAC BETH (Seattle Rep/Erica Schmidt), Pullman Porter Blues (Seattle Rep/Lisa Peterson); Romeo and Juliet (Intiman/Allison Narver); Clybourne Park (Seattle Rep/Braden Abraham); Motherhood Out Loud (Primary Stages/Lisa Peterson). Kaytlin is the Casting Director at the Seattle Repertory Theatre. She has served as the primary facilitator for the Seattle Rep Writer’s Group and Kaytlin has completed an internship in the artistic department at Primary Stages in NYC and received a BFA in Directing from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University.
